Following a successful season with the 1st XV finishing joint 3rd in the league, the Annual Dinner/Dance and Presentation Evening was once again held at the Cleddau Bridge Hotel.
As previous occasions at this venue the food and service were excellent and enjoyed by all who attended.
After speeches by Michael John, Hamish Nichols and Coach Phil Sutton the following presentations were made.

Eager to improve on last season’s successes, training started on the 16th July. Phil Sutton is continuing as coach for the coming year and he will be ably assisted by team manager Simon Brick in getting the players together. There is a change at captain with Ian Griffiths taking over from Hamish Nichols who led the team admirably last season. Ian has, for the last two seasons, been voted Players Player of the Year so there is no doubting the commitment he will bring to the post.
Phil has been putting the team through some rigorous training sessions and there is a real belief that the team can improve on last year. With the team entertaining Pontyates at home for their first match they have an ideal opportunity to kick off on a high and boost their confidence.
Also training hard at Pill Parks are the reformed Youth team under the guidance of coaches Jeremy Brock and Bill Brant. The team has been entered in the Pembrokeshire Youth League and have a full fixture schedule in what promises to be an exciting season. The team will be up against some established teams but given the effort and commitment shown by the under 16’s last season, there is no reason not to expect some good results as the season progresses. Last year’s under 16’s will form the bulk of the team but will be bolstered by some older boys returning to the club now that a team has been reformed.
If anybody is interested in playing youth rugby please contact the club for more information. Also, if you wish to support the team, please come along on Saturday afternoons. Fixtures are advertised in local press, in the club and the village shop.
Once again the club will this season be fielding a variety of team across the age groups.
The club has put several new coaches through the necessary WRU courses thus enabling teams to continue at Under 8, Under 9, Under 11, Under 12 and Under 15.
Please contact the club or your relevant coaches for details of training and matches.
All new players are most welcome to joint this flourishing section of the club. As always help is always appreciated so if there any parents willing to give up their time please contact the club.
